ITINERARY
Day 1- Welcome to Amsterdam Upon arrival in Amsterdam you will be welcomed by our guide who will transfer you to your accommodation, right in the middle of the city center. After a briefing we will visit the flower market and a local masjid. Then: shopping time!
Day 2- Beautiful Holland Breakfast. We will visit a traditional Dutch village and authentic Dutch windmills, visit a cheese farm. At the end of the day we will have a delicious dinner at a halal restaurant, decorated in a beautiful style. Transport to hotel.
Day 3- Welcome to Lapland Direct flight from Amsterdam to Lapland. Transfer to Iisakki Village. Check in and explore the Villa Hotel. Dinner. Transport to hotel.
Day 4- snowmobiling and igloo overnight ! During a Halal Scandinavian breakfast you will be briefed about the details on the program of this week and go to the wildlife house. There you will get your equipment for a snowmobile safari of approximately 20 km. You'll be sharing the scooter with another member of the group, either a spouse/family member/friend. During the trip you will stop to have a delicious lunch and to change turns driving. In the afternoon there is a trip to the grocery store where you can buy all kinds of local delicacies.
Day 5- ice fishing with reindeer Visit a local reindeer farm where you will have an unforgettable day with the reindeer and the farmers. You will make a ride in a reindeer sleigh to visit a good place to go ice fishing. Your guide will tell you all the secrets of ice fishing. In the early afternoon you will enjoy a lunch in the wilderness. Dinner and overnight in Iisakki Village.
Day 6- A traditional Finnish sauna with traditional dinner! At the end of the afternoon it's time for the traditional Finnish sauna. Who dares? Immerse yourself in the ice hole! The evening will end with a traditional dinner in the cozy Iisakki House , including Finnish lesson ... Hyvää ruokaa = Selamat makan! After dinner, go to the special snow theater. You will sit on warm reindeer skins and enjoy a film about the aurora phenomena. And who knows, you may just see the lights this evening dancing in the sky! Optional: an active day during which you can try out your snowshoes in the most beautiful part of the Kuusamo: the Oulanka National Park. It may take a little while to get used to it but very soon you'll discover that these shoes are the best way to enjoy nature. You will walk with your guide to the Jyrävä waterfall. A fabulous tour with a coffee break halfway the journey of about 4km.
Day 7- day off Today you will have a 'free' day. Alternatively, you can book an optional excursion. Or you may wish to simply enjoy the Villa Hotel and its beautiful view over the lake. Dinner and overnight in Iisakki vilage.
Day 8- in search of the Aurora by snowshoe The first part of the day will be up to you to choose. You may want to explore the slopes in Ruka or go for some shopping? Of course you can also take a nice walk in the area! Do not exhaust yourself too much because in the evening you will be invited to a very special trip on snowshoes. We'll be looking for the Aurora. At a spot with excellent view towards the sky, you will warm yourself by the fire,while the guide will tell you all about this particular phenomenon and about the legends and stories related to it. Once the sky is clear and there is sufficient solar activity, you will have a beautiful view of the Aurora insya'Allah! If not.. the sky covered with stars will also be very much worth it !
Day 9- husky express! After a good breakfast you will meet the Huskies. The Huskies are likely to greet you with a deafening barking. Don't worry, it's just their way to express their excitement of going for a ride. The owner will explain about the Huskies to ensure you will be comfortable. The journey of about 20 km will take you over frozen lakes and dense forests . You will be grouped in pairs, one will be sitting on a seat and enjoy the passing Winter scenery, the other will be controlling the sleigh. Of course you can exchange seats during the ride. Dinner and overnight in Iisakki vilage.
Day 10- back to Europe Again waking up in total silence , enjoying the snowy landscape and the wonderful breakfast . Then transfer to the airport for a direct flight to Amsterdam. Once arrived you will be transferred to the hotel in the city center and have the rest of the day off.
Day 11- Wake up in Amsterdam After a delicious breakfast you will be transfered to the airport. A direct flight will bring you from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur.
Day 12 - Arrival at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), Malaysia.
